This is a French World War I commemorative medal, often referred to as the “Gloire aux Alliés” (Glory to the Allies) medal, dating from around 1914–1915.

Obverse (front): Bust of Général Joffre (Joseph Joffre, French Commander-in-Chief during WWI), with the inscription:
“GÉNÉRAL JOFFRE”

Reverse (back): A cannon with the inscription:
“GLOIRE AUX ALLIÉS – CAMPAGNE 1914–15”
Below are listed the Allied nations at the time:
“FRANCE – RUSSIE – ITALIE – ANGLETERRE – BELGIQUE – SERBIE – JAPON”
